The Text editor shows your whole scenario as JSON code and lets you edit it directly.
To open it, click Text editor (the code icon) next to Project settings at the top of the editor. The Scenario JSON window opens.
The same editor opens when you click Import from JSON on the Projects screen.
All changes you apply in the Text editor also appear in the Scene editor and Journey workspaces.
Overview
Scenario JSON
Shows your current scenario as JSON code, with line numbers on the left.
You can edit the code directly or paste new code, for example, code written by an AI assistant.
Scenario is valid – the code has no problems, and you can apply it.
If there are problems, you will see a list of issues instead. Each issue shows the line number and what needs to be fixed. The line with the problem is highlighted in the code. Click an issue to jump to that line.
Build one with AI
Instructions for ChatGPT, Claude, or another AI assistant. They explain how to build a BYOJ scenario and include your project, so the AI assistant works with your real videos.
- Copy instructions – copy the instructions to paste them into your AI assistant.
- Download – save the instructions as a file.
Actions
- Choose JSON file – upload a JSON file from your computer. Its code appears in the Scenario JSON section.
- Reset to current scenario – discard your edits and return to the current scenario.
- Apply changes – update your scenario with the edited code. Available only when the scenario is valid and you have made changes.
To undo applied changes, press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Cmd+Z (Mac).
Building a journey with AI
An AI assistant, such as ChatGPT or Claude, can write the scenario code for you based on your description.
Before you start, add all videos you want to use to your project in Sources. The AI assistant can't search the SexLikeReal library, so it can only use videos that are already in your project.
We recommend copying the instructions from the Text editor inside your project. This way, the instructions include your project and the details of the added videos.
If you copy the instructions from Import from JSON on the Projects screen, they don't include any videos, and the AI assistant will ask you to open your project first.
To build a journey with AI:
- Add the videos you want to use in Sources.
- Open the Text editor.
- In Build one with AI, click Copy instructions or Download.
- Paste the instructions into your AI assistant, or upload the downloaded file.
- Describe your scenario.
- Copy the code the AI assistant writes and paste it into the Scenario JSON section, replacing the current code.
- If you see issues instead of Scenario is valid, fix them or send them back to the AI assistant.
- Click Apply changes.
Example:
Use the three videos in my project. Play the first video from 01:00 to 04:00. At 04:00, pause and show two buttons: "Stay" and "Switch". "Stay" continues the first video until 09:00. "Switch" jumps to the second video at 02:30.
The more detailed your description, the better the result. Mention which videos to use, the start and end timecodes, and what should happen after each button.
What AI can add
- Trim – select the parts of the videos you want to use.
- Jump to – connect scenes or jump to a specific timecode.
- Pause – pause video playback.
- Text – add floating captions.
- Button – add clickable buttons that take the viewer to another scene.
What AI can't add
- Videos that aren't in your project – add them in Sources first, then copy the instructions again.
Before publishing
Some mistakes don't show up as issues in the Text editor but affect how your journey plays. Before publishing, check the following:
- Text and Button assets are shown for at least 1 second. Shorter ones are extended to 1 second.
- Assets placed in the greyed-out part of the timeline, outside the selected trim, are not shown.
- Every scene ends with a Jump to or a Button, so the viewer doesn't get stuck.
- All timecodes are in whole seconds.
- Each Button has only one action.
- Jump to lands inside the trimmed part of the target video. Otherwise, you won't be able to publish the journey.
Use the Journey and Review&Publish workspaces to check how everything works together, then watch the journey in the DeoVR app.
